LMS, or Learning Management System, is a viable technological solution for learning platforms within a company or even an industry. However, I do see the other side of the argument (inefficient, cumbersome, etc.) that people make concerning use of a system as a platform for learning. However, new and exciting technologies might make such platforms more accessible, interactive, and effective. To learn more in a more hands-on way, perhaps attending an e learning conference, such as the E-Learning Summit in D.C. (see link for list of speakers and sessions), would be a good start.
